Negative effects of plastic waste on planetary and human health

There are many reasons to be concerned about plastic waste around the world which unfortunately do not get the focus - or the resources - they deserve. Next to that, more money is spent on lobbying for 'softer' policy, than on reducing the use of plastics, or the establishment of proper waste management systems to properly dispose and recycle.

The negative effects on planetary and human health of plastic waste - and microplastics in extention - is an emerging field of study and it's pretty bleak. Today we're sharing professor Andrew Huberman's latest episode of Huberman Lab, he dives into the effects of microplastics on human health and shares tips on how to reduce their effect on your health.

Valuable information in an age where we will most likely see more plastics than fish in the sea by 2050.

Though we're grateful for the work by Professor Huberman and countless of his colleagues - we would like to emphasise: the only real possibility to reduce the effects of microplastics on human health is to ensure plastice waste doesn't end up in nature in the first place. The way to do this is through the establishment of proper waste management systems. Transparent, digitally-enabled and blockchain based; if you'd ask us.
